The osteria
The best of Sienese cooking, made by hand
At Il Vicolo, Siena’s traditions taste just the way our grandmothers made them: hand-rolled pici, slow-cooked ragù, unsalted Tuscan bread and good olive oil.
Every morning we make our own pasta, bread and pizza dough. The recipes come from the local tradition: ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, pici all’aglione, pappardelle with wild boar, Sienese crostini neri and ossobuco alla senese. Our dining rooms, with exposed brick walls, are spacious and air-conditioned: perfect for couples, families with children and large groups.
- Pici di Nonna AnitaCheese cream, courgettes, grana cheese and flaked almonds: our signature dish.
- Gnocchi del PalioPorcini mushrooms, cheese cream and Tuscan soppressata.
- Ribollita and pappa al pomodoroThe traditional Sienese peasant soups, just like they used to be.

The pizzeria

Flour from selected mills, sweet tomatoes and DOP produce from Campania such as buffalo mozzarella. Try the Margherita, the Il Vicolo with smoked provola, porcini and rocket, or the Pizza del Dentista with pecorino cheeses and buffalo mozzarella. Gluten-free pasta is also available on request.
