Entrance of Osteria Il Vicolo on Via del Porrione in Siena

Our story

A Sienese osteria in the alley behind Piazza del Campo

Since 2008

Tuscany on the table, no shortcuts

Il Vicolo opened in 2008 on Via del Porrione, one of the oldest streets in Siena, a short walk from Piazza del Campo and the Logge del Papa.

The idea was simple: an osteria where you eat the way people eat at home in Siena, at honest prices, right in the historic centre. Ever since, the kitchen has stayed true to Sienese and Tuscan tradition: ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, hand-rolled pici, pappardelle with wild boar, ossobuco alla senese and bistecca alla fiorentina.

Alongside the osteria, the pizzeria grew up, with a double-leavened dough and DOP ingredients from Campania. Two souls, one rule: whatever can be made in-house, we make in-house.
